Wildchild Festival at The Wolseley Centre
Spectacular things to see!
Step inside the Whale and experience unique and intimate storytelling, Watch the Fabularium performing their new play “The Crew” and join them on a high seas adventure. Wonder as giant swallows fly across the wet meadow or sit and enjoy Quantum Theatres wonderful interpretation of Peter Rabbit. Ramble to the river and join in with Forest Fairy Friends and their participation show. or just sit in the grass and listen to the storyteller by his bow top caravan. These are just some of the immersive treats we have lined up for you at this year’s festival.
Events and spectacles will be spread across the whole 26 acres of our visitor centre, in the meadow, beside the lake or river, on our beautiful Park Bank or somewhere in the wonderful woods.
Exciting things to do!
Get wild and creative with a variety of different activities for all the family. Take the opportunity to get hands on with tools in our Construction Zone and learn some bushcraft skills at our Forest School. Perhaps you’d like to challenge your family to an obstacle course, slide down the bank, or get creative with some natural printmaking? We've oodles of ways to get wildly creative through natural play!
Relax!
Have a wander around our Nature Hero marquee, treat yourself to refreshments at our Kingfisher Café, or visit a stall to enjoy a wood fired pizza or even some vegan west Indian street food. On the wet meadow you will find our wellbeing tent where you can enjoy some leisurely yoga, crystal jewellery making, hair braiding and hair feathers. And if f it all gets too much there will be mini meditation and breath work sessions for the children. Or simply relax in the beautiful grounds of The Wolseley Centre whose lakes, river, meadow, wet meadow, raingarden and woodland are home to lots of interesting wildlife. You could try and spot the bright blue flash of a kingfisher, feed the ducks, or watch the River Trent gently rolling by as you stroll along the boardwalk. Most of the paths are suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs and little feet and there really is loads to see.
CAR PARK TICKETS
If arriving to the festival by car, please remember to book your parking. If your family is arriving in more than one vehicle, please book one ticket per vehicle. We encourage car sharing wherever possible.
Shugborough Park and Ride:
This parking ticket will allow you entry to the Shugborough car park located at the National Trust’s Shugborough Estate. From here, you will get a bus ride to and from the Festival. The bus can carry prams but is not suitable for wheelchairs. If you require a parking space in our accessible parking area, please book parking in The Wolseley Car Park. To find the Shugborough Park and Ride car park please follow the road signs on the day.
The Wolseley Centre (accessible parking):
This parking ticket will allow you entry to the The Wolseley Car Park, located at The Wolseley Centre. This area is accessible parking only, you must display your blue badge to claim your parking space.
