VIKING RE-ENACTMENT
On August 10th and 11th, 10am to 4pm, Stafford Castle will be invaded by a Viking hoard. Setting up their village and carrying out their day to day activities, cooking, weaving, leather work and other daily chores. Word has it there might be some battles higher up on the castle site as they defend their new found lands. Six Towns Company of Archers will be there to help you learn the skill of archery to defend yourself.
We will also have a Children’s games area, free brass rubbing and if you fancy being a warrior yourself there is armour, swords and shields to try out. A children’s workshop will also be on site.
Also we have face painting, food and refreshments on site, you are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy the view from the top of the site or sit in the main area.
Dogs are welcome as long as they keep their owners on a lead.
Feel free to enter the spirit of the day and come suitably dressed and keep looking at the page for updates to our line-up. This will be a fantastic day for adults and children alike. We welcome pedestrians, cyclists, public transporters and taxi drop offs. Event admission is free, if you are driving to the site to park, the charge for the day is £5.
