Lantivet Duo in Concert – piano, violin and viola – 5 November – 5:30 pm
The Lantivet Duo is a dynamic musical partnership whose boundless creativity and innovation have earned them critical acclaim. They draw on the harmonies of European classical music and the rhythms and grooves of Latin America and Eastern Europe to create a unique and exhilarating sound.
The first half of the concert explores these themes, first with Janacek’s sublime violin sonata followed by pieces and arrangements of the Duo’s own.

Dvorak was one of Janacek’s biggest influences. He was inspired by the folk music of Moravia and Bohemia as well as his famous trip to America. This half begins with pieces exploring Dvorak’s approach to folk music. They finish off with his Sonatina written during his time in America.
