We have chickens and ducks – various breeds, rabbits and guinea pigs and our resident pygmy goats that live in Rascal Ranch. During the summer grazing months it is possible to see our Jersey cows munching on the grass to make the milk. We milk them once a day in the morning and they take the rest of the day off. You can also to see our other farm animals that live here too. This includes our small herd of Highland cows that usually start calving around June and with these lives Leslie our old favourite Hereford cow. We have a little flock of sheep which include Border Leicester’s, Derbyshire Gritstones, zswartble and a couple of all sorts, we lamb these in April, if you like to see the lambs with their mum’s.

We also have some Alpacas, 3 young males Dewy, Pongo and Scooby and our older wiser duo Bruce and Eric. Trotting around the field is Jack our Shire, he’s quite a handsome young man and keeping him company is Maple our very very old cob horse who has been retired from work and has come to live out her days here. Marjorie our rescue Donkey is usually found on window patrol around the tearoom. Contrary to most Donkeys Marj very much likes her own company and chooses to spend the night where she wants by standing by the appropriate door or gate until we very obligingly let her through –sometimes with the cows sometimes with the sheep and sometimes on her own but can always be found by the carpark gate in the morning to take a carrot off the chef! There is animal feed available and very importantly HAND WASH facilities in the toilets.

We are a small family business that turns our creamy Jersey milk into delicious Ice Cream. The ice cream parlour is a purpose built brick building and opened in 2017 moving from the wooden chalet we originally started from. We are still very much a family business with Alison and Graham making the ice cream and serving in the coffee shop. Janis and Graham snr are still busy behind the scenes. We have a very tempting desert cabinet which is filled with desserts from our two cake ladies. It stocks various cheesecakes not to forget all-time favourite Lemon Meringue Pie and Chocolate Fudge Cake.

We have a shop area in which we stock milk, cream, cheese and butter, free range eggs and potatoes. We also stock locally made jams and local honey, handmade meat pies, a range of chutneys and pickles as well as a range of gifts and children’s toys.

Of course there is our ice cream available in 120ml pots, take home 700 ml tubs and 2 ltr. A wide range of flavours are available ranging from our most popular flavour Honeycomb to one of our seasonal flavours such as pomegranate. Try before buying to take home from the scoop cabinet where you can pick from even more flavours and have a delicious treat on a cone. The cones we buy are the only sugar cones made in the UK, in Manchester. Made by the Antonelli family we have plain, dipped and sprinkly cones – something to suit everybody.

Our local cake lady keeps our shelves full with sponges, fruit loaves and biscuits.

Local amenities include butchers, hairdressers and general convenience/newsagents store. We have two village pubs, both within walking distance The Bell 01785 780587 and The Shropshire inn 01785 780301.

There is a disused railway line which you can access from Haughton either by foot or drive and park which runs from Newport to Stafford passing through the Millennium Green at Derrington this is popular with both walkers and cyclists .

The next village, Gnosall is two miles away in which is located the doctors, vets, more pubs, a microbrewery, bakery, petrol station which sells gas. Takeaways – fish and chips, Chinese and Indian

There is a bus service to Stafford and Newport Telford which stops twice hourly, please check times before leaving.
