Eccleshall Town Centre
Eccleshall is a proud and thriving rural community that can trace its story back to the Domesday Book. The ruins of Eccleshall castle pay testament to a time when the town was fought over by great armies, or when it was home to powerful bishops.
Once a centre for glass making and leatherwork, Eccleshall became a popular stop during the coaching age, developing a reputation for hospitality that is still reflected today with its reputation for fine artisan food and drink.
Two annual shows The Tern Valley Vintage Vehicle Show and the Eccleshall Show a traditional country show attracting visitors from miles around. A biennial Festival which fills the town with events for nine actions packed days. A farmers market every fourth Saturday in the month filled with local produce. An open gardens weekend and a town centre alive with colourful blooms in the summer time.
The parish is crisscrossed by over 130 public footpaths maintained by the Parish council and detailed in a set of free leaflets.
