Principal physiotherapist Andrew Caldwell BSc (Hons) MCSP has 20 years post-graduate experience providing specialist treatment of musculoskeletal disorders and sports injuries. He has post-graduate education to MSc level and has been fortunate to learn from and work with many leading clinicians and consultants. Andrew has previously worked as an extended scope orthopaedic physiotherapist (NHS) and now exclusively consults in private practice.

Most of his career has been treating elite/professional athletes before founding Active Therapy and you can be assured of the same high level of service. Andrew is former Head of Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine at Hearts FC and sports physiotherapist at Loughborough University.

Utilising advanced assessment skills we will diagnose the cause of your condition rather than just treating symptoms. We fully educate all our clients regarding their condition as understanding your condition is an important step in the pathway to recovery. You will then receive targeted treatment and rehabilitation based upon these findings. Andrew is an extended scope physiotherapist trained to request diagnostic imaging, blood analysis and utilise ultrasound imaging. He is also an accredited injection therapist and acupuncturist.
