Tittensor Village
The village is readily accessible by road as it lies between the A34 and A51, a regular bus service runs on the A34 between Hanley and Stafford via Newcastle and Stone. The village has a compliment of facilities including Church, Post Office, Primary School and Village Hall.
The Hall has been established since June, 1956 and continue to uphold the original principles of being for the benefit of the community.
Tittensor War Memorial.
After hostilities ended on 11th November, 1918 the estimated total of military and civilian casualties being over 37 million, together with 10 million military personnel killed and nearly 7 million civilians during WW1.
In addition to the conflict, the ‘Spanish Flu’ pandemic of 1918 was the deadliest in history and infected about a third of the planet’s population – an estimated 500 million worldwide and killed anything between 20 to 50 million victims.
In 2018, it is a hundred years since the end of WWI, and it is opportune to add some personal details to the names on the monument.
